About Us
Biotechnology/Healthcare Committee
Dr. Kevin Trangle, Chair
The objectives of this committee are to actively engage Chamber members who have an interest in attracting Israeli high tech companies to Ohio, want to promote Ohio as a growing technology center, desire to organize technical/professional and business exchanges among the higher institutions of learning in Israel and Ohio, and/or, in general, want to assist Israeli biotechnology and biomedical companies in forming strategic relationships with US entities. The Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and Case Western Reserve University have created a consortium to develop a biotech park and to grow Northeast Ohio as a biotech/medical device center. One of the committee's objectives will be to work with this center.
Marketing and PR Committee
Victor Gelb, Chair
This committee will prove invaluable to the Chamber in its efforts to grow the membership, provide quality programming and inform the community about the services we offer to promote business relationships both here and in Israel.
Program Committee
David Silk, Chair
This committee develops the Chamber's program calendar including networking, seminar and special events including annual membership meeting and tribute dinner. The committee is in the process of implementing a special, "Distinguished Speakers Lecture Series" that will bring to Cleveland renowned individuals in the areas of politics, business, academia and science and technology. The series was recently established in honor of Robert Goldberg, a founder of the Ohio-Israel Chamber and noted philanthropist and community leader.
Membership Committee
This committee has the primary responsibility for recruiting and retaining members. It advises the Chamber on new services to be developed as well as procedures to assist and serve Chamber members. As the chamber continues to grow in both membership and services offered, this committee will continue to take on increased importance.
Professional and Business Advisory Committee
Alan Goldstine, Chair
This committee is comprised of individuals who have an interest in attracting Israeli high tech companies to Cleveland, want to promote Northeast Ohio as a growing technology center and, in particular, offer their professional expertise as a resource to both local and Israeli companies looking to do business with each other. For example, the Chamber has been working with a number of companies both here and in Israel in the areas of technology transfer, export development, mergers and acquisitions, VC funding, and matchmaking.
Technology and Communications Committee
Mitchell Frankel, Chair
The objectives of this committee are to actively engage our members who have an interest in working with and attracting Israeli high tech companies to Cleveland , want to promote northeast Ohio as a growing technology center, help our own businesses here at home as well as organize business exchanges between Israeli and Ohio companies.
Northeast Ohio has a growing software and telecommunications industry and many of our established companies are looking for innovative technologies to support their core products. Israel also has other technologies which we feel will be of interest to our members and the business community at-large. This committee will assist in putting together many of these companies that have a mutual interest in each other.
